Tea Quote Mug

£13.00

Enjoy your tea 18th-century style! A fine bone china mug with a choice of quotations either celebrating or castigating the habit of tea-drinking.

“O happiest of Herbs!” is a line from Allan Ramsay’s poem ‘The Morning Interview’ (1721), while the observation that tea is “pernicious to health, obstructing industry and impoverishing the nation” is taken from Jonas Hanway’s ‘Essay on Tea’ (1756). Each design also bears the Library of Innerpeffray logo on the reverse side.
