The talk by Jilly McCord – MasterChef, Rugby, History: an Eclectic Life, originally scheduled for Wednesday 10th June, 7.30 pm, has been postponed due to the coronavirus emergency
Continuing with our theme of television celebrities, in June FOIL members will be treated to an evening in the company of Jilly McCord, best known as a finalist in the cooking television series MasterChef. That is certainly not her only claim to fame. Jilly played lock in a successful career in Women’s Rugby Union but in 2002 was told that she would not make the national team unless she improved her pace by losing weight. Undaunted she dropped a spectacular 11 stones and was selected for the national team.In 2007, she was named Scottish captain. By day she is a history teacher at Dollar Academy where she is hugely supported by her pupils. We look forward to what will be a truly inspirational evening learning more about her life.
